“La Nueva (The Newcomer)” joins Blood Bash 2023 as an official selection!

We are pleased to announce the next film in the Blood Bash 2023 International Horror Film Festival & Convention – – – – – La Nueva (The Newcomer)

La Nueva – The Newcomer comes to us from Spain, making it the THIRD film from Spain to be selected for BB23! It was directed by Ivan Villamel, written by Ivan Vimmale and Raul Cerezo, and produced by Ivan, Raul, as well as Heilon Grande! This movie has one of the biggest casts of the entire film festival but believe us when we say they all do their part! The cast includes – Amaia Sagasti, Yoel Guillen, Coque Sanchez, Alex Romero, Miguel Canaveras, Enzo Biosca, Kaan Korukcu, Efren Fuentes, Marga Benedicto, ANder Pardo, and Paul Blanch. The Newcomer has a runtime of 15 minutes.

The official synopsis of the movie:
“Maria is the new teacher who arrives at an old religious school. On her first day, she will have to teach a group of rebellious kids who are part of a punishment class. An unexpected event will turn the classroom into a real hell.”

This movie is a definite contender for “Best In Show” in our opinion, and let us tell you, it is one of our personal favorite films that we’ve ever had submitted to this festival. Of course, we are only one of a slew of judges, so who knows how the rest of the panel will feel, but MAN we LOVED THIS MOVIE! It boasts one of the biggest casts, but they all do their part, and we feel that when you walk out of the screening room, something will stick with you – – – in more ways than one perhaps!

Our judges are still determining the final standings for the film festival, so we don’t know if this movie will be screening on Friday night as part of our Semi-Final lineup, or on Saturday as part of our Finalists lineup! Stay tuned to find out, though, as we will make that announcement this month!

Blood Bash 2023 is an International Horror Festival and Convention coming to the Commonwealth Commerce Center in downtown Jackson, Michigan, that will be happening on Friday, February 10th, and Saturday, February 11th, 2023! Friday night is FILM FESTIVAL BONUS NIGHT that will show all of our Semi-Finalists, as well as have an exclusive Friday Night Only Gaming Experience (find out more on that later,) and SATURDAY, February 11th, is the MAIN CONVENTION day, and will feature the FINALISTS, the Scream Queen Contest, the Cosplay Contest, all of the video gaming and carnival gaming, and of course, the belle of the ball, OUR VENDOR ROOM!!! Saturday is the biggest day for sure, but if you want to experience EVERYTHING that Blood Bash has to offer, we highly recommend buying the 2 day pass so you can see all 44 films!!
