“Los Huesos” joins the Blood Bash 2023 film festival as an OFFICIAL SELECTION!

We are pleased to announce the next film in the Blood Bash 2023 International Horror Film Festival & Convention – – – – – Los Huesos!

Los Huesons comes to us from Chile, making it the first film from Chile to be selected for BB23! It was written and directed by Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña, and produced by Lucas Engel. Normally we don’t mention in these posts who does the music for these films, but this one definitely deserves the note – the music was composed by Tim Fain, whose credits only include, I don’t know – “Black Swan,” “Moonlight,” and “12 Years a Slave.” Oh, and one last thing, this film’s executive producers are Adam Butterfield and ARI ASTER….yes, THAT Ari Aster! It doesn’t officially star anybody, but Natalia Geisse is credited as the art director, and that’s all you’ll need to know! It has a runtime of 14 minutes and 22 seconds.

The official synopsis of the movie:
“Los Huesos is a fictitious account of the world’s first stop-motion animated film. Dated 1901 and excavated in 2021 as Chile drafts a new Constitution, the footage documents a ritual performed by a girl who appears to use human corpses. Emerging in the ritual are Diego Portales and Jaime Guzmán, central figures in the construction of authoritarian and oligarchic Chile..”

Now, if you were to line up all 44 movies of this year’s Blood Bash, and pick out ONE movie that definitely is COMPLETELY unlike anything else you’ve probably EVER seen- – – this is the movie, no doubt about it. It’s stop motion animation is incredible, it’s score is PHENOMENAL, and the movie is just one of the more unique things you’ll possibly EVER witness, much less anything you’ll see at Blood Bash. Plus, carrying Ari Aster as an executive producer we’re sure is going to get a lot of butts in the seats for this creepy tale

Our judges are still determining the final standings for the film festival, so we don’t know if this movie will be screening on Friday night as part of our Semi-Final lineup, or on Saturday as part of our Finalists lineup! Stay tuned to find out, though, as we will make that announcement this month!

Blood Bash 2023 is an International Horror Festival and Convention coming to the Commonwealth Commerce Center in downtown Jackson, Michigan, that will be happening on Friday, February 10th, and Saturday, February 11th, 2023! Friday night is FILM FESTIVAL BONUS NIGHT that will show all of our Semi-Finalists, as well as have an exclusive Friday Night Only Gaming Experience (find out more on that later,) and SATURDAY, February 11th, is the MAIN CONVENTION day, and will feature the FINALISTS, the Scream Queen Contest, the Cosplay Contest, all of the video gaming and carnival gaming, and of course, the belle of the ball, OUR VENDOR ROOM!!! Saturday is the biggest day for sure, but if you want to experience EVERYTHING that Blood Bash has to offer, we highly recommend buying the 2 day pass so you can see all 44 films!!
